Indulge in the exquisite Eustachio Notebook, exclusively from Surgeons' Hall Museums. Featuring a stunning anatomical drawing from Tabulae Anatomicae by Bartolomeo Eustachi, 1722.

Italian anatomist Bartolomeo Eustachi (1520-1574) was proficient in both anatomy and illustration, rivalling Vesalius. Based in Rome as a professor and physician, he made significant discoveries including the Eustachian tube, thoracic duct, uterus, throat muscles, and optic nerve origins.

Eustachi's anatomical drawings were originally intended for publication in 1552, and were eventually discovered and published by papal physician Giovanni Maria Lancisi in 1714.

The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh owns a copy of Tabulae Anatomicae.
