This unique tea towel to Surgeons’ Hall Museums has a printed image from De Humani Corporis Fabrica (Of the Structure of the Human Body) by Andreas Vesalius (1555).
This print belongs to a set of books on human anatomy written by Andreas Vesalius written between 1539 and 1543 while he was a Professor of Anatomy at the University of Padua, Italy.
The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh owns two reprints from 1604 and 1725 of the original (published 1543) and a selection of the drawings.
